Homemade Baby Food Tools
With a year of homemade baby food under my family's belt I feel like we have been surprisingly successful. My little gal loves her veggies and hopefully that will not change tomorrow. Here are a few things I found vital to our mission.
Baby Bullet
The manual is the best for advising when to introduce your baby to certain foods. I would buy the manual even if I didnt intend to buy the whole system.
The storage system is very handy. The freezer trays with lids freeze your food in great portion sizes and can easily be thawed in the same sized containers. I recommend buying another freezer tray or two.

Larger Freezer Trays:
Im pro lids on freezer containers. These trays with larger portions are great for squashes & sweet potatoes. We freeze butternut squash, yellow squash, pumpkin, and sweet potatoes in this size container. Later we mix butternut squash & salmon, pumpkin & chicken, yellow squash & beef. The list goes on for the combinations. We typically feed one squash/potato or blend at each meal with a meat mixed in.

Small Section Freezer Trays:
This smaller size is great for freezing pureed meat and juices. We always combine our meat with a fruit or veggie. The texture of meat isnt one our little gal likes when served alone. Works well for blueberry puree to be added to oatmeal or pancakes. We reserve plum juice from steaming plums as a mix in to other fruit purees when our little gal hasnt had a bowel movement in 24 hours.

Tiny silicone spatulas:
These little guys are incredibly handy and scrape out every smidgen of food from the baby bullet.

Steamer Basket:
For blanching green beans and carrots to steaming broccoli this basket squeezes well into different sized pots, easily cleaned, and no worry of rust like a metal basket.

Small Plastic Containers:
Have on hand several sizes and versions. Some end up getting thrown away but these are very handy for thawing and toting around home made baby food.

Cooler:
We seem to tote around food much more than I ever expected. We have an older version of this small cooler and it is a life saver.
